Nellie Chan is an innovative business leader with a passion for transformation and over 20 years of commercial experience, with the past decade focused on digital and social. She has led businesses that advise companies across the region on integrating digital and social strategies into their business, marketing, and daily operations to drive results. Throughout her career, she has built and launched multiple digital media businesses, generating millions of dollars in revenue, and acted as a change agent, disrupting traditional media operations from go-to-market strategies to sales and talent acquisition. Recently, Nellie Chan worked as an independent consultant, advising the South China Morning Post during its business restructuring following the acquisition by Alibaba. Collaborating closely with the COO and executive teams, she contributed to strategy development, product design, team structuring, and sales operations, laying the foundation for their transition and transformation.
Prior to this, she joined LinkedIn in 2012, holding a dual role as Director of the Marketing Solutions business for Asia and Country Manager for Hong Kong. Tasked with building the business from scratch, she grew it tenfold and expanded the team from 2 to 70 members within just three years. She also supported the China launch team in strategizing and planning the company's entry into the market in 2014. During her tenure at LinkedIn, she earned multiple awards, including the APAC Leadership Award in 2013 and the Global Leadership Award in 2015. Additionally, she led the Women Initiatives program for the APAC region, fostering an inclusive work environment by investing in the development of senior women executives within the organization.
Her earlier career as an advertising executive at the Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times saw her drive significant revenue growth by launching new digital products and initiatives that opened additional revenue streams.
