Mike Cook is a proven entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience working in and serving the financial services, wireless, cable, satellite, auto and subprime finance industries. Using a consortium approach, Cook has built several data breach, fraud and credit risk applications and compliance, manual verification and account management solutions. With 3 awarded patent, and 4 patents pending, Cook is a proven innovator who has authored several white papers and has been asked to speak often at conferences. Cook co-founded ID Analytics in 2002 and built it from concept-stage into a high-growth, profitable company serving over 280 enterprise clients, including the nation’s leading banks, credit card issuers and mobile network carriers, as well as five million consumers. Beyond having responsibilities for Product, Marketing and Strategy development, Cook’s primary role while at ID Analytics was Chief Operating Officer, in which he was responsible for the daily operations of the company, including InfoSecurity and Operations. ID Analytics was acquired by identity theft protection leader LifeLock in 2012. Cook was also a member of the executive team who developed Consumer Credit Associates into the “fourth national credit bureau” before helping to sell that business to FDR (now Innovis). He has also held senior management roles with Experian, Early Warning Services and American Express. Considered an industry expert in data breach, fraud patterns and identity theft, Cook provided Congressional Testimony on behalf of Veteran Affairs related to the potential impact of their May 2006 data breach which impacted 26.5mm US Veterans. This is the largest US identity level data breach to date. With almost 30 years in the financial services industry, Cook has long-term, trusted relationships across customer, federal regulators and privacy advocacy groups.
