Maria Medvedeva is Mastercard’s Country Manager for Saudi Arabia and Bahrain and a Member of GCC Board Directors Institute and Young President Organization.
With over 25 years of experience, Maria has been instrumental in driving country business strategy to deliver innovative payment experiences Sfor the consumers with financial institutions, fintechs and merchants through data insights, payment strategy consultancy and M&A. he is closely engaged with the Regulators and Ministries across Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, advising on competitive payments practices globally and cooperating with the US - Saudi Chamber of Commerce sharing best practices and data insights.
Prior to this role, Maria served as a Vice President Solution Sales, Market Development for Mastercard’s expanded MENA region leading digital and security solutions including instant payments, cross border services, e-commerce gateways, processing and cybersecurity. She started her career as an IT analyst at Computer Associates in USA, progressing to the Regional Director of IT in its Dubai, UAE HQ for EEMEA and then moving to the turnaround and financial advisory companies in UAE and UK.
With more than two decades of experience in the global and regional roles, Maria has a broad vision as a senior leader motivating multi cultural teams to achieve market leadership through a disciplined execution mechanism. She is passionate about embracing diversity and developing the next generation young leaders, with various educational, ethnical and religious backgrounds. Her leadership brand is building communities that drive and empower economies. This is a foundation of the force for good - and financial inclusion to give under-privileged access to financial services.
Maria Medvedeva is a recipient of Highly Commended, Arabian Business Woman Award 2021, as well as a speaker & panelist at SAMA, MISK, FSB G20, Saudi Fintech, MEA Finance, Seamless and AI Summits. She graduated BBA in Finance & MIS from Ohio University, USA and obtained an Executive MBA in Strategy from the London Business School with courses at Harvard and Columbia. Her family including two energetic kids and a dog reside in Riyadh Saudi Arabia.
