About Luanne Lim

Luanne Lim was appointed Chief Executive Officer, Hong Kong, HSBC, in 2022, having previously served as Chief Operating Officer, Hong Kong, HSBC, a role that she has held since 2017. Ms Lim has more than 25 years of banking industry experience. Since joining HSBC in Singapore in 1999, she has held leadership roles and spearheaded strategic initiatives across HSBC’s key markets, including Mainland China,Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia. She is currently a board member of HSBC Bank (Vietnam) Ltd. Luanne Lim is the Chairperson of the Hong Kong Association of Banks, and sits on the Banking Advisory Committee and Financial Infrastructure and Market Development Sub-Committee of Hong Kong Monetary Authority. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Financial Services Development Council, council member of Treasury Markets Association and member of the Academy of Finance. She is also the Chairperson of Financial Services Advisory Committee and the Asian Financial Forum Steering Committee of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. She currently serves as a board member and executive committee member of The Community Chest. In July 2024, Ms Lim was awarded a Medal of Honour by the HKSAR Government in recognition to her services to the community. More than 20 years of experience in the Banking Industry. 19 Years with HSBC Bank spanning 6 countries covering a wide range of back office activities in emerging and developed markets. Experience in running captive outsourcing operations, building Joint ventures, and Integration with partner banks. More than 15 years of experience in managing large teams, people development and driving highly motivated teams in delivering high performance levels.
