About Leigh Treacy

I am a banking and financial services expert with over 20 years' experience acting as an adviser to UK-based and international banks, wealth and asset managers and alternative finance firms. I am a qualified Chartered Accountant (a member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants Scotland and the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants) and a Senior Statutory Auditor. As well as having broad industry experience, I am also a technical specialist in providing assurance and advice to banks, lending businesses, investment and wealth managers, other financial institutions and regulated firms. I am a Skilled Person in terms of the FSMA, dealing with governance and risk management, prudential and conduct of business matters. I have in-depth knowledge and experience of providing internal audit and assurance services to firms, advice on regulatory requirements and governance matters; and have led a number of risk advisory and governance assignments for financial institutions and listed entities in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. As a Skilled Person, I have led a number of S166 engagements dealing with governance, controls and risk management for UK based banks and also act as quality assurance partner on S166, advisory and assurance engagements and EQCR on a number of external audit engagements. I have acted as an Expert Witness in financial services litigation in Europe and been involved in a number of forensic accounting matters.
