About Kunal Jhanji

Kunal Jhanji is a Managing Director and Partner in BCG's Financial Institutions practice in London. He leads BCG’s payments practice in the UK, the Netherlands and Belgium and sits on BCG's Global Payments Management Team. He is the global lead for the Networks and Market Infrastructure segment. He has extensive experience working on payments topics with banks, core payments providers (schemes, acquirers, PSPs) and non-banks (regulators, merchants, fintechs). He was the COO of the European payments team and was the Global Co-lead of Open Banking at Oliver Wyman London. He regularly contributes to thought leadership and industry events, and co-authored Oliver Wyman’s flagship European SME and Retail payments reports. He also served as the Head of Policy at Open Banking Implementation Entity (on secondment from OW) from May 2017 - April 2018, and was also a Strategic Advisor to the Entity. Before joining BCG, he was a management consultant at Oliver Wyman, EY and Deloitte in their FS strategy teams. Kunal has attended Executive Leadership and Management programmes at Wharton and INSEAD. He also holds a Masters in Management from Warwick Business School.
