About Kevin Smith

I have been a tax advisor serving the business community for over 25 years. I lead KPMG's tax practice for our Greater Mid-America business unit, which comprises 12 offices in Minnesota, Michigan, Kansas, Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska and Ohio. The majority of my career has been with KPMG Minneapolis but I also spent four years away from the firm as an entrepreneur, working as a tax consultant and developing businesses within the automotive industry. Specialties: I have co-led our initiatives around life sciences and healthcare clients. In my career, I have also served investment banking, venture capital, and private equity clients as well as the life science, high tech and clean tech opportunities they serve and invest into. I also work with many family-owned and closely-held businesses, assisting in family business transitions and estate planning.
