About Jon Prideaux

At BOKU, we help people around the world buy things with the one device they never leave behind. We can put a charge on 4bn mobile phone bills. That’s more users than Visa and Mastercard combined. Transacting is a cinch — all you need to know is your phone number. It’s no surprise that Merchants that accept Boku sell more stuff. As Merchants like Facebook, EA, Spotify and Sony can attest.

I was first involved with ecommerce as the founding EVP for Visa Europe’s ecommerce division,Virtual Visa back in the late 90s. In that role and subsequently as EVP, Products and Marketing, I was involved with most new developments in the cards industry over the last 15 years or so: Some worked: Chip and PIN, Visa Electron, V PAY. Some didn’t: Visa Cash, SET. On some the jury’s still out: Verified by Visa (3-D Secure), contactless cards.

I’m a hands on Executive as comfortable with the nuts and bolts of Operating Regulations as with strategy. I was the Chairman of Visa’s Compliance Committee for seven years.

I was Deputy CEO at SecureTrading Group, one of the UK’s leading PSPs. During my tenure, we were able to more than double revenues and quadruple profits.
