About Joel Lou

Joel is a Co-Founder of BCV and serves as its Operating Partner based in Singapore. He was formerly the CEO of JustCommodity Software Solutions (acquired by Allegro Development in June 2015), the leading commodities trading and risk management software solutions provider in the agricultural commodity space in Asia. Under his leadership, JustCommodity has won numerous awards including Singapore Enterprise 50, Deloitte Technology Fast 500, “Best tech company to work for” in Singapore and the Red Herring Global 100 Award. Joel was a member of the Executive Leadership of Allegro Development till June 2017. Joel was conferred the “Most Promising Entrepreneur of the Year” by APEA in 2011, the “Young Professional of the Year” in the IT leader awards in 2012 and conferred “Ten outstanding young persons – TOYP” by Junior Chamber International in 2016. Joel is active in the Singapore tech community and have served as an Executive committee member for the Singapore Enterprise Chapter at the Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation. He currently serves as an Advisory council member of the Singapore Management University's International Trading Institute, and is a Charter Member and Board Member of TiE Singapore. Joel has contributed as an adjunct lecturer for the International Trading Institute at the Singapore Management University since 2013. He received a Master’s of Business Administration from Imperial College London.
