Jason Tiede is a successful entrepreneur and global payments executive with over 20 years’ experience bringing cutting-edge, client-driven solutions to life at startups and the world’s largest banks. Jason is currently the Global Head of Corporate Development and Partnerships for J.P. Morgan’s Payments business. Jason Tiede leads a global team of innovation leaders and corp dev experts who have a passion for investing in the next generation of FinTech businesses, solving emerging client challenges and embracing new business models. The Corporate Development and Partnerships team leads the identification and development of commercial partnerships with FinTechs and invests bank capital in growth companies from seed rounds thru pre-IPO stages. The team is also responsible for the identification, evaluation and execution of M&A opportunities for the business.
Jason began his career in the late 1990’s at Ecount where he helped grow the company as a founding member from a handful of employees and a bold vision to the successful acquisition by Citi in 2007. At the time of acquisition, Ecount had grown to over 100 employees, delivering innovative payment solutions to nearly 1,000 leading corporations. Post-acquisition, Jason Tiede was offered the opportunity to launch the Ecount business across the Asia Pacific region and serve as the Head of Wholesale Cards for Citi in Hong Kong.
In 2011, Jason Tiede joined the GTS leadership team of Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Asia Pacific as the Head of Global Cards and Emerging Payments for the region. Jason was responsible for all aspects of the businesses including strategy, P&L, sales growth, investment planning and country expansion. In 2014, Jason returned to the US to form and lead the Innovation Team for GTS at Bank of America.
Jason Tiede graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He and his teams have won multiple awards for innovation and thought leadership. Jason is a board member of a number of FinTechs and he is a regular speaker at industry events.
