About Jaco Oosthuizen

Jaco Oosthuizen is a co-founder and the Chief Insurance Officer of YuLife. He began his career as an actuarial student and swiftly moved on to head up an actuarial valuations team. Jaco then headed up the team that created and developed Multiply, the South African competitor to Vitality which grew to be the second-largest wellness rewards programme there. Jaco’s passion goes beyond just crunching numbers. He is most interested in addressing the trust deficit in the insurance industry through client engagement and uncovering meaningful insights — something that YuLife does with its 'win-win' insurance model by inspiring individuals to lead happier, and healthier lives. Jaco Oosthuizen has an extensive background in the corporate world, with experience in various roles related to insurance, actuarial science, and client management.  Jaco also worked at companies like MMI Holdings Limited, Momentum, and Sage Life, with a focus on disruptive innovation, client rewards strategy, and health rewards programs. Jaco holds a Diploma in Strategy, Innovation, and Globalisation from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, as well as a degree in Actuarial Science and Mathematics from the Institute of Actuaries and University of Pretoria.
