About Henri Dewaerheijd

Henri Dewaerheijd is the General Manager for Mastercard in Belgium and Luxembourg. He is responsible for market and business development, developing relationships with the financial and retail sector and represents Mastercard with all payment stakeholders. Henri Dewaerheijd joined Mastercard in 2000. He held multiple roles with increasing responsibility for Mastercard Europe Finance organization and in 2011 he moved with his family to the US where is was responsible for Global Financial Reporting. Before moving back to Europe in 2016, he was the Finance Officer for the Digital Payments division with responsibility for all aspects of financial management. Henri Dewaerheijd is also involved with HomeSend, a joint venture start-up located in Brussels which is active in international payments where he is the Chairman the Board. Prior to Mastercard Henri Dewaerheijd held positions in Marketing Research at the Coca-Cola Company and FedEx. Henri Dewaerheijd holds a Master in Business Administration from the Vlerick School (Belgium) and a Master of Science in Economics from the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium). Henri Dewaerheijd is fluent in English, French and Dutch. Fun-fact: While in the US in volunteered as a scout’s leader participating in the creation of a new explorer group and this without any prior scouting experience. He is therefore one of the few people that made his scouting promise in his forties. He is also an avid runner and double finisher of the NYC Marathon.
