https://www.zopa.com/
Helen Beurier is a Global HR Leader with a track record in leading scale transformation for growth within the largest FMCG, Retail, and Pharma organizations. She is agile in her approach and has also built people strategy and services from the ground up for powerhouse challenger brands that are changing consumer trends for the better. Her values of accountability, integrity, and humility underpin her commitment to business partnership and the development of the next generation of leaders. In over 30 years of work experience, Helen Beurier has mastered her craft as a leader of People and Talent teams in hugely diverse contexts, in some of the most changing socioeconomic landscapes we could imagine. Helen is passionate about the creation of remarkable workplaces and cultures. In January 2024 Helen will join the Board of Newton in the role of Chief People Officer & Partner. Newton partners with clients in strategic delivery across the public and private sectors, tackling complexity to create meaningful and lasting impact. Newton believes so strongly in what can be achieved together with clients that it guarantees its fees against delivering real, measurable outcomes. As a first generation University student, sometime sales assistant, balloon artist, receptionist, waitress, employment policy specialist, change manager, HR professional, business owner, and mid-life career switcher into Tech - Helen’s non-conformist, ‘squiggly’ career path offers rare insight into the tools and techniques that best enable self-fulfilment at work to unleash human potential in ways that transform business performance and quite simply make for a more tolerant, empathetic and kinder society. Most recently Helen Beurier was Chief People Officer of Zopa, a FinTech ‘unicorn’ which began life as the first global peer to peer lender and became a fully licensed Bank in 2020. At Zopa, Helen launched some of the most progressive employment practices in their sector. Zopa were awarded no.3 Most Loved Workplace in the UK by Newsweek in 2022, and in March 2023 Helen was nominated one of the 250 global members of the Women in Fintech Powerlist for 2022 by Innovate Finance and EY. Prior to Zopa, Helen held progressively senior Executive roles at household names M&S, PepsiCo and GSK. Helen stepped away from her corporate career in 2018 to launch her own business, Bloom, partnering with creators, innovators and dreamers to develop people strategies for accelerated growth. Helen is fluent in French and has a dual nationality French/English family with 3 young children and 2 cats. Reflective of her squiggly career Helen holds a National Vocational Qualification in floristry, and is an alumni of London Business School and the University of London. Helen Beurier builds remarkable workplaces and cultures, centered on empowerment, collaboration, and trust. Her track record in leading scale transformation for growth spans the largest FMCG, Retail, and Pharma organizations and the smallest of start-ups. She chooses to be part of organizations that want to make lives better.
