About Gianfranco Bisagni

Gianfranco Bisagni started his career in the Italian network of UniCredit in the mid 80s, moving shortly thereafter to the Chicago office and then to New York, where he took on the role of Deputy Branch Manager, responsible for all Representative Offices in North and South America. In 2001 he moved to Asia, where he was Head of Corporate Banking Asia Pacific & Chief Manager of the Hong Kong branch. In 2010 he was appointed Head of Corporate & Investment banking and Private Banking of UniCredit Tiriac Bank Romania. From 2011 to 2015 he was Head of Corporate & Investment banking CEE and Deputy Head of the CEE Division. Gianfranco Bisagni has also been Co-Head of the CIB Division since September 2016, after having been Deputy Head since April 2015. In March 2019, he was appointed Co-CEO for Commercial Banking Central Eastern Europe, maintaining shared oversight of the CIB division, in conjunction with the Co-CEOs Commercial Banking Western Europe. In May 2021, Gianfranco Bisagni was confirmed as Head of Central Europe, with direct responsibility for Austria, Czech Republic and Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia, and joint responsibility for Russia. From June to October 2022, Gianfranco Bisagni was appointed Group Group Operating Officer (Ad Interim) in addition to the role of Head of Central Europe. In July 2023, Gianfranco Bisagni was appointed Group Chief Operating Officer. Following Gianfranco’s new role, Teodora Petkova becomes Group Head of Central Europe and Eastern Europe. He received his undergraduate degree from RMIT University.
