Gary Delooze, A financial services technology leader with extensive experience in both consulting and senior management/executive roles, based primarily out of the UK but with international experience gained in the USA, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Slovakia and Hong Kong.
Experienced in all areas from strategy through to execution; working at Executive and Board level to deliver transformational IT strategies and operating models, enterprise architectures, technology roadmaps and change portfolios/backlogs delivered using a mixture of traditional waterfall and agile methods, continuous integration and deployment, DevOps automation and the exploitation of emerging and disruptive technologies including public and private cloud platforms, containers and open source toolchains.
Deep expertise in a wide range of technologies gained through hands-on delivery of large, complex solutions including payment clearing houses, billing systems, high volume e-commerce and media platforms, core banking systems and a range of government services.
Written and presented on a wide range of topics including cloud computing, consumerisation and mobile platforms, artificial intelligence, service oriented architecture, enterprise and solution architecture and the future of the IT function.
Gary Delooze is the Chief Information Officer of Co-Operative Bank - UK. He previously worked at EY as an Executive Director. Gary Delooze attended the University of Salford.
Gary Delooze has been Nationwide’s Chief Technology Officer since January 2017. During that time, he has reshaped the Society’s technology function, building an Enterprise Architecture team to drive standardisation and simplification of the estate, and creating a new engineering capability to build and develop talent in software and infrastructure engineering. He has also led the development of the Society’s new technology strategy that will result in over £4bn of investment in technology, including Cloud Computing, Analytics and AI, over the next 5 years. Prior to his role at Nationwide, Gary led strategy and architecture teams in both Barclays and Lloyds Banking Group, in addition to a 20-year career in technology consulting with Andersen Consulting, PwC, EY and IBM.
