About Fred Ngan

Fred Ngan is the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Bowtie. We're a fully licensed, full-stack life insurance company that was granted the first virtual license by Hong Kong's Insurance Authority. Bowtie's mission is to enable a new generation of consumers to access health insurance directly, making insurance simpler and affordable. We've raised more than $50m from Sun Life, Mitsui & Co, HK X-Tech and other reputable investors. Bowtie is featured the “top 10 hottest fintech startups in the world” by Business Insider. Fred is a serial entrepreneur who previously co-founded two VC-funded insurtech startups (currently operates with over 150 members in 7 markets). His goal is to bring like-minded people together to build disruptive innovations while making a social impact. Fred was a consulting actuary who advised insurance clients in Chicago, London, Toronto and Hong Kong. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Financial Technologists of Asia (FFT). He is an advisor in a number of professional organizations, and a frequent speaker in many fintech and startup conferences.
