Mr. Frank Vang-Jensen is a President & Group Chief Executive Officer at Nordea Bank Abp. He is on the Board of Directors at Nordea Asset Management Holding AB, Bankernes EDB Central AmbA and Finans Danmark.
In 1998, Frank Vang-Jensen was hired by Handelsbanken as office manager for the office on Amaliegade in central Copenhagen . He developed a significant relationship with Pär Boman during this time From 2001 to 2005, Vang-Jensen was regional manager for Handelsbanken in Denmark and from 2005 to 2007 managing director of Stadshypotek , Handelsbanken's mortgage institute. Thus he moved to Sweden.
In 2007, Frank Vang-Jensen became managing director of Handelsbanken in Denmark. Svenska Dagbladet described Vang-Jensen's return to Denmark as a sign that Handelsbanken would continue to invest in the Danish market. In 2014, Vang-Jensen quit as Denmark's managing director and instead became Sweden's managing director (at the head office). Frank Vang-Jensen was chief executive of Handelsbanken's Swedish office operations between April 2014 and March 2015.
Due to a scandal with SCA and its flights in 2015, Pär Boman was forced to resign as CEO of Handelsbanken. After Boman's departure in 2015, a power vacuum was created at Handelsbanken. Boman and other directors related to him reported during the ensuing power struggle that they were being harassed by private actors employed by the SCA . After the SCA flight scandal had subsided, Boman was appointed chairman of the board of Handelsbanken and with his influence over the board, he proposed Vang-Jensen, called "Pär Boman's crown prince", as managing director.
Frank Vang-Jensen's educational career began with him obtaining a HD in Organisation & Management from Copenhagen Business School. Frank then went on to do a YMP in Management Programme from INSEAD. After that, they obtained a HD in Finance & Credit from Copenhagen Business School. Finally, they completed an Executive Programme from Harvard Business School.
