David Waithaka is a seasoned strategist and pioneer in the fintech space in Africa with over 15 years of experience in the industry. He is a commercially astute executive with a background in finance. He joined Cellulant in 2007 as part of the business support services team, before launching and leading the operations of Cellulant Zambia, which he went on to build into the second largest market within Cellulant’s multinational payments conglomerate. He has been an integral part of managing Cellulant’s expansion into various markets across Africa. In his current role as Group Chief Revenue Officer, he is responsible for defining the commercial structure with customers, establishing various go-to-market routes, and defining commercial partnerships. He manages the teams driving execution across East, Central, and North Africa as well as the Global Payments business. He has also participated in the digital tax framework in Kenya. David Waithaka looks forward to scaling the business revenue year on year and creating the best payments network in Africa with over a million businesses served.
