David Caldwell | Diebold Nixdorf SVP | Fintech Finance
David Caldwell currently serves as the senior vice president, strategy and corporate development. He joined Diebold Nixdorf in April 2018. In his role, he is responsible for driving the organization’s strategy and leading the corporate business development team. Partnering with leaders across the company, Caldwell links vision with delivery, while defining achievable objectives aligned with the company’s core competencies, and executing tactics to maximize profitability, gain market share and drive future sustainability and growth. David Caldwell has more than 30 years experience within the Financial Technology and Financial Services sectors providing expertise in strategic transformation of businesses. Before joining Diebold Nixdorf, Caldwell served as Chief Strategy Officer of Finastra, a global FinTech company. Prior to Finastra, David worked at D+H Corporation where he was responsible for strategic planning and merger and acquisition initiatives.  David Caldwell joined D+H in 2010 and played a key role in the development and execution of its strategy in its transition to a global Financial Technology company. Prior to joining D+H, he was Managing Director, Corporate Development at CIBC World Markets, and previously held roles in strategy, corporate development and M&A advisory functions in corporate, investment banking and consulting organizations. At Sun Life Financial, David Caldwell was responsible for the coordination of the company's strategic planning process, management of global rating agency relationships, capital raising initiatives, and identification and execution of strategic initiatives. David Caldwell also managed the Corporate Affairs function, including Government Relations. At Davis + Henderson, David worked on merger, acquisition, divestiture, and restructuring assignments. David completed valuation assignments and reports for clients and principal-based activities. David Caldwell also managed assignments on behalf of clients including due diligence, financial and operating reviews, documentation, and negotiation from inception to closing. David Caldwell is a highly experienced financial executive who has a proven track record in strategy, corporate development, and financial management. David Caldwell has a Master's in Business Administration with a focus in Corporate Finance from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management, as well as a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Political Science from Carleton University. They work with Teresa Ostapower - SVP, CIO, Beth Patrick - SVP, Chief People Officer, and Joe Myers - EVP, Global Banking. David Caldwell reports to Octavio Marquez, President & CEO.
