Boon-Hiong Chan is Head of Securities Market and Technology Advocacy, based in Singapore. Boon-Hiong Chan joined Deutsche Bank (DB) in 1998 as a Management Trainee. In his banking career, he has gained cross-transaction banking and international experience in specialist and leadership roles in areas including working capital management, structured finance services, securities clearing and post trade, and funds & custody. Boon-Hiong Chan specialises in the intersection of securities market services, regulations and technology evolutions to path find, advocate and contribute to forward looking resilience and in new product developments. He had led experiments in securities tokenisation, assessed DLT-based operating models and in AI related matters. He is also engaged in ESG topics and in the nexus with DLT and AI. He has participated in APEC public private forum, the World Economic Forum Digital ASEAN forums, and served in industry associations like the Association of Global Custodians, GFMA, ASIFMA, ASEAN +3 Bond Market Forum and the APAC CSD Group. He pursues related interests in cryptocurrency/ digital assets, dark web, digital privacy and cybersecurity governance. Boon-Hiong Chan holds a chartered accountancy qualification, MSc in Computation (AI), and a GIAC cybersecurity proficiency certificate. Boon-Hiong Chan is a product builder, regulatory advocator and innovator with over 24 years of experience in banking and capital markets. In his innovation role, he also collaborates with leading fintechs to unlock novel value structures and their projects are recipients of four industry innovation awards ( 2023 - 2024 ). Boon is a community volunteer, and a proponent of aged economics, financial inclusion.
