About Barbara Gottardi

I am a long-standing Chief Information Officer who wants to use my 20 years of experience at a top 10 global bank and the world’s largest mutual fund organisation to help and support smaller institutions. I use my extensive experience across technology and commercial operations to create and deliver the strategy for internal and external customers. I have managed globally distributed teams of over 1,000 and £200 million plus budgets.
Having lived the big corporate experience with all the ‘ups and downs’ that come with it, I now want to transition from Executive roles to advisory and non-executive ones where I can use my learning and my experience to support smaller organisation and give back!
I am a positive and strategic thinker with a record of successful deliveries across the globe and have partnered with companies big and small to achieve that success. In particular, I am proud of having worked with and promoted a number of smaller fintechs and digital services organisations who I believed had what it takes to succeed and deserved greater recognition opportunity – something that is not easy in to achieve in large monolithic organisations.
I pride myself on having very strong values and I use my personality to lead, rather than trying to fit into what other leaders look like and do. I am considered a true leader with a proven record of building high performing global team, who cultivates productive business relationship at all levels.
I am someone who does not easily accept a ‘no’ for answer but always determined to drive a team to success holding people to account. I am able to cut through the nonsense and deliver what’s needed. I have a very positive attitude and with a smile that helps remaining focused and drive the team.
I am passionate about diversity in its true meaning – creating a diverse workforce that can think critically, challenge, and strategically mirror the customer base. Being a mother of 2 boys and happily married I am also keen for men being supported in the workforce and understand how to invest in women
Finally, I love sport and I believe it is often a metaphor for life. Having played basketball semi professionally growing up I am now a keen supporter of my kids’s cricket and rugby and a keen runner myself.
