Aurélien Barbier-Accary is the Business Unit Director at Worldline, overseeing a portfolio valued at €48.5M, with annual growth ranging from +2% to +14% over the past five years. He manages 280 FTEs across four sites in France and two offshore locations. Currently, Aurélien Barbier-Accary is responsible for the markets "Transport, Ministries, Administration, and Local Authorities" in France, as well as an international transport offering, "Open Payment & MaaS," for the European market, including strategic marketing efforts.
He specializes in managing complex markets and teams requiring complementary technical and functional expertise. Previously, he led initiatives in e-Health and location-based services (GIS). With both a Ph.D. (2005) and an Executive MBA (2014), he has extensive experience in creating and developing sustainable organizations within the innovative digital landscape, adopting disruptive approaches across technologies, business models, and service offerings.
Aurélien Barbier-Accary also served as Deputy Director of talent management at Worldline-France for six years, leading the "Experts Program" for top-tier talent (100–300 individuals). His background includes roles as a Ph.D. supervisor and researcher in GIS, 3D modeling, and rendering.
Known for his tenacity, sense of responsibility, and strong team spirit, Aurélien Barbier-Accary focuses not only on achieving business objectives but also on fostering individual employee development. His career spans various organizations and environments, from research labs to major corporations over the last 15 years.
Since July 2016, he has served on the Board of Directors of an SME specializing in wooden furniture construction. From 2007 to 2014, Aurélien Barbier-Accary managed multiple teams and departments, overseeing up to €12M in annual turnover and 65 employees, including subcontractors. His experience ranges from operational management to strategic leadership.
Earlier in his career, Aurélien Barbier-Accary worked as a temporary associate professor, researcher, code developer, and project manager. Alongside his main responsibilities, he founded two open-source projects, managed a Ph.D. candidate, led innovation projects, completed an Executive MBA, and co-founded the "Experts Program."
At Worldline, Aurélien Barbier-Accary progressed through various roles, starting as a code developer, project manager, and SCRUM master, before advancing to positions such as team manager, department manager, Director of Strategy & Marketing for e-Health, Operations Director, Business Unit Manager, and ultimately, CEO of MTS France.
