Asha Cugati, a post-graduate qualified business leader with deep experience in payments, cash management, treasury, and trade solutions within global organizations. She has over 13 years of experience working with a broad range of financial institutions, multinational corporations, and Australian-based institutional clients on local, regional, and global banking solutions. She has more than 8 years of experience leading senior sales teams to deepen client relationships and deliver transaction banking solutions that demonstrably help clients meet their treasury goals and broader business objectives. After 14 years in institutional banking, in mid-2018 she joined Mastercard to build and execute the strategy for the future of Mastercard’s relationships and engagement with business clients and government agencies across Australia and New Zealand. The role includes ensuring the Commercial Payments team continues to support their financial institution clients and their end corporate and government clients. Included in her remit is the opportunity to work with local, state, and federal government departments and agencies across the Tasman on driving their Smart Cities agenda. With the trend towards urbanization set to continue, Mastercard helps cities by embedding digital payments in a city’s DNA, helping cities unlock the power of data and digital engagement, and by embedding secure, frictionless payment options into everyday activities like taking public transport.
