About Antony Jenkins

Antony Jenkins, CBE, is Founder, Chair and CEO of 10x Banking, the cloud-native core banking provider tackling legacy challenges for banks. Antony’s 40+ year career in the banking and financial technology sector has included leadership roles at some of the best-known names in the financial services sector, including serving as the CEO of Barclays and his current role as an external member of the Prudential Regulation Committee at the Bank of England. Antony’s board roles also include Group Chairman of Redpin, the leading UK non-bank provider of foreign exchange and international payment services. Additionally, he is passionate about the power of education and will become Chancellor of Manchester Metropolitan University in January 2025. Antony was born in Blackburn, Lancashire and raised in the North West, where his father was production manager at a pottery factory. He studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at University College, Oxford before beginning his career in finance with Barclays in 1983. He subsequently moved to Citigroup, eventually heading up their branded credit card division before returning to Barclays, where he became CEO in 2012. He has also served on the boards of Visa Europe Ltd, Absa Group, Barclays Group, Fannie Mae, Blockchain.com and chaired Business in the Community and the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education. Antony Jenkins founded London-based 10x Banking in 2016 - a company that provides banks around the world with a next-generation core platform to enable accelerated innovation and world-class customer experiences. In his role as Chair and CEO, he leads the company’s mission to enable a new era of financial inclusivity, prosperity and security by providing banks with the next-generation core banking platform they need to better serve their customers and improve the lives and livelihoods of billions of people across the world. Antony was awarded a CBE for services to business in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in June 2021 and continues to be passionate about the imperative for banks to adopt and integrate best-in-breed technologies to better serve diverse customers.
