About Andrea Marani

Andrea is the CEO of FinClear ECS. He has a finance background with over 20 years’ experience in financial services. Andrea’s previous role was COO at FinClear and before joining FinClear in March 2020, Andrea spent 6 years with OpenMarkets Australia where he worked with the founders to build the company from a startup to a top 15 ASX Market Participant and second largest digital broker to CommSec, turning over $4bn per month. OpenMarkets also offered an API broking platform, supporting a number of fintechs and wealth platforms.

Andrea has held numerous senior management and executive positions at a variety of leading financial institutions including Shaw & Partners, Wilson HTM, Global Trader, Rabobank, Bankers Trust, JP Morgan and Investec.

Andrea started his career in South Africa in audit and financial accounting roles in 1994. He moved to London in 1997 for a few years where he worked in financial controller roles at JP Morgan, Bankers Trust and Rabobank. Andrea returned to South Africa in 2000 and joined the team that started Global Trader/GT247 and went on to sell to Purple Capital in 2007 for EUR36m. Andrea then immigrated to Australia in 2008 and took up operational roles at Wilson HTM and Shaw & Partners before joining OpenMarkets in 2013 and then moving to FinClear in March 2020.
