Currently serving as the Director of Research Applications and New Research Initiatives at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Ana also manages the Center for Secure Water. Ana has a proven track record of building and managing cross-disciplinary, global programs. As the US Federal Government Manager for the Partnership for Resilience and Preparedness (PREP), she led over 25 organizations in enhancing data accessibility for climate resilience. Her role as Chief Data Scientist for the White House Climate Data Initiative (CDI) involved orchestrating contributions from more than twenty federal agencies to develop a comprehensive digital platform for climate data. She excels at translating complex scientific information into actionable insights and integrating data into strategic decision-making processes.
Ana Pinheiro Privette was trained as an environmental engineer and as an earth scientist at the New University of Lisbon (Portugal) and at MIT. She spent most of her career as a research scientist at NASA and NOAA. Later, Ana worked on the US National Climate Assessment (NCA)
