IG Launches World’s First Daily Tesla Options as UK Client Interest in Options Trading Surges
IG Daily Tesla Options have launched, giving traders the chance to access same-day expiry contracts on one of the world’s most actively traded stocks. These Tesla 0DTE options—available exclusively on IG’s platform—offer rapid market exposure and better intraday risk management.
Exclusive to IG and unavailable on any global exchange – including in the US, where daily options on individual stocks don’t yet exist – these 0DTE contracts let traders take quick, short-term positions that settle at the US market close. This enables faster reaction to price changes and more precise risk management throughout the day.
Elliot Harris, Head of Options at IG, said: “We’re proud to be the first in the world to offer daily expiring Tesla options, giving our clients unmatched flexibility and speed. These contracts are a powerful new tool for short-term traders looking to capitalise on Tesla’s intraday price swings, which in recent times have been pretty dramatic.
“This is one of the fastest-growing areas in global trading, and we want to be at the forefront – driving innovation and giving our clients the tools they’re asking for. Daily Tesla options are just the beginning. We’re here to push boundaries and lead the way in delivering smarter, faster trading solutions.”
The options are available via spread betting and CFDs on IG’s platform and mobile app. These daily options will be offered Monday to Thursday – there will be no market on Friday, given the existing weekly options available on that day.
The launch comes as daily options surge in popularity. In the US, 0DTE index options now account for over 50% of total daily options volume – yet no broker or exchange globally has offered the same structure for individual stocks, until now. In the last year, IG has seen a 27% rise in options trading among UK clients, alongside a 9% increase in the number of active options traders.
With IG Daily Tesla Options, the platform is at the forefront of global trading innovation, giving users the power to quickly respond to short-term changes in Tesla’s volatile price action. IG plans to roll out daily options on other major US equities in the near future.
