Thunes Obtains A Payment Establishment License In France And Plans To Extend Its Collections Capabilities In The EU
Thunes , one of the world’s leading payment platforms, today announced that it has obtained a payment institution license to perform merchant acquisition services in France , and to expand its capabilities across the European Union. The company will be able to offer a full range of payment services, including global collection from alternative payment methods such as wallets and installment payments, to merchants and partners in France and the rest of the world. .
Approved and issued on October 12, 2021 by the Prudential Control and Resolution Authority (ACPR), the regulatory body of the Banque de France (BDF), the new license elevates the company to the rank of payment central. The license covers most types of commercial payment transactions, including the acceptance, processing and settlement of payments for Thunes customers.
Thunes is already licensed by regulators in major global business centers such as the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority and Singapore’s Monetary Authority. Thunes takes its growth to the next level with the significant expansion of its business, allowing the company to work directly with merchants around the world, offering them the ability to accept and make payments by cards and modes. alternative payments in Europe . Existing Thunes customers will also benefit from a streamlined collection process, as well as improved payment capabilities.
