The Insurtech Magazine #7

It’s here! Our 7th issue of the Insurtech Magazine has finally hit the newsstands. Chronicling the explosive progress of last year, the insurtech sector has seen a record number of investments and business deals, coupled with an exponential level of cybercrime and new customer demands.

We caught up with some of the industries most forward thinking insurtechs and innovators, including titans like Wefox, Aptitude and Sproutt. With the latest developments in low-code integration software and blockchain technology, insurtech has come a long way in the last year in efforts to push digitalisation and bring the centuries old institution of insurance into the modern age.

By far the most interesting trend happening right now revolves around embedded insurance and whether it answers all our questions regarding personalised products and customer preferences. From heavyweights Cover Genius and Penni.io, we gain insights on the new enterprise and its technological and financial benefit for incumbents.

With embedded insurance, comes talks of insurance’s biggest conversation: automation.

From customer onboarding, to risk assessment, automated “touchless” processing is one of the most prominent goals propped up by insurers and insurtechs today, from Aviva to Hippo. Though there seems to be a multitude of use cases for AI and ML, this issue asks how far automation can and should go, from as little as API integration, to full blown RPA underwriters. I doubt androids are dreaming of electric cars.

With on the ground coverage of Insurtech Insights Europe, to online attendance at ITC Asia’s virtual summit, FF News takes you through a cross section of the insurance industries’ most important and heated discussions.
