SixThirty Fintech Accelerator Accepting Applications for Fall 2016

SixThirty, a St. Louis-based business development accelerator and venture fund that invests in late-seed stage financial technology (FinTech) startups, is accepting applications for its fall 2016 cohort.

SixThirty invests in FinTech startups with working products and focuses on business development and revenue acceleration.  Selected companies will receive up to a $100,000 investment in exchange for a negotiated percentage of equity. The companies selected to take part in the accelerator program, participate in a 14-week program that provides hands-on training, mentoring, and networking opportunities with leaders from the top financial services companies in the country. Programming for the cohort will be held in T-REX located in downtown St. Louis.

We have a proven model and experience in operating accelerators and a natural flow of FinTech startups,” said Atul Kamra, Managing Partner of SixThirty. “The St. Louis region is the third coast for FinTech innovation” added Kamra. “Companies go to the coasts for investment capital, and they come to the St. Louis region for customer revenue.”

Since its launch in August 2013, SixThirty has invested in 21 FinTech companies which have gone on to raise more than $70.0 million in capital. Notable recent accolades for SixThirty include:

–        PromisePay

An Australian headquartered FinTech startup just closed a $10M round of financing for company growth.

–        Blockchain Conference

SixThirty in partnership with BTC Media held the first ever Distributed: Trade Blockchain conference in the Midwest on June 14 in St. Louis at Washington University. Ernst & Young, Overstock.com, Gem, Fluent, RGAx, StateFarm and Thomson Reuters made up some of the speakers and sponsors.

–        Village Capital

Earlier this year SixThirty and St. Louis were recognized by Village Capital, in partnership with the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, the Sorenson Impact Center and the Rise of the Rest initiative, as a pioneering FinTech startup community.

–        Road to the Global Entrepreneurship Summit

SixThirty hosted members of the U.S State Department, the White House, and local St. Louis civic leaders for a roundtable conversation about FinTech leading up to the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Silicon Valley.

Applications will be accepted through the first week of July. Interested FinTech companies should apply through the SixThirty website at www.sixthirty.co
