Unlimit Achieves Mastercard and Visa Token Service Provider Certification in India, Advancing Secure Digital Payments at Scale

Unlimit, the global fintech company, has achieved Token Service Provider certification from both Mastercard and Visa in India. This milestone establishes Unlimit as a certified provider capable of directly managing the complete token lifecycle, including issuance, replacement, and deletion, while offering merchants enhanced security and streamlined payment experiences.

Unlimit now enables customers to use comprehensive tokenisation services that securely store their card details with specific retailers in the form of encrypted tokens. This eliminates the need for customers to repeatedly enter their card details at checkout, significantly improving transaction security while creating a smoother, more frictionless payment experience.

Through their direct integration with Mastercard and Visa’s networks, Unlimit is also optimising checkout performance for merchants. Merchants can now expect smoother checkout processes, reduced card abandonment rates, and enhanced payment security, crucial factors for maximising conversion rates in one of the world’s fastest-growing digital payments markets (digital payments are expected to exceed 130 billion transactions by the end of 2025). These tokenisation services complement Unlimit’s existing comprehensive payment portfolio in India, which includes Unified Payments Interface (UPI), card payments including RuPay, India’s own card payment network, wallets, and net banking.

“Achieving Token Service Provider certification from Mastercard and Visa is a pivotal moment for Unlimit’s expansion in India,” said Irene Skrynova, Chief Customer Officer at Unlimit. “This certification validates our technical capabilities and security standards, and opens access to modern tokenisation services that will significantly strengthen our market position. Our direct integration with these leading card networks ensures merchants can offer their customers the most secure and seamless payment experience possible.”

The Token Service Provider certification reinforces Unlimit’s commitment to providing cutting-edge payment infrastructure across key growth markets. This milestone follows Unlimit’s continued expansion across emerging markets, where the company has consistently demonstrated its ability to navigate complex regulatory environments while delivering world-class payment solutions.
