Nexi Collaborates With Visa and Mastercard to Support Italian Businesses

Nexi, the European PayTech, has announced two strategic collaborations with Visa and Mastercard to enable faster, easier and more cost-efficient payments for Italian businesses. Visa Direct and Mastercard Move, the global platforms developed by Visa and Mastercard that provide convenient and secure money transfer solutions, will be integrated into Nexi’s suite of business services.

Through these agreements – the first of their kind in Italy – businesses will be able to transfer funds directly to their customers’ credit or debit cards quickly, easily and securely. For transactions such as refunds, insurance payouts or compensation, Nexi’s corporate and merchant clients will be able to use Visa Direct or Mastercard Move instead of traditional bank transfers or cheques, gaining significant advantages in terms of speed, cost and convenience.

“We are proud to be the first in Italy, and among the first in Europe, to offer direct money transfer solutions from Visa and Mastercard to our business clients,” said Filippo Signoretti, Merchant Solutions and eCommerce Director at Nexi Italy. “This collaboration strengthens our commitment to providing innovative digital tools that simplify payment management, deliver tangible benefits and promote the continued growth and evolution of the digital ecosystem.”

Visa Direct and Mastercard Move both enable businesses and merchants to benefit from more efficient liquidity management, streamlined financial flows and faster settlement for customers – who will enjoy a quicker and more secure payment experience.

Pilot projects are underway and are already delivering positive results by reducing processing times and operational costs for businesses in Italy. Both solutions, Visa Direct and Mastercard Move, will be fully integrated into Nexi’s business service suite during 2026.
