Paysafe wins two Payments Awards

Paysafe named winner of ‘Best Online Payments Solution – Consumer’ and ‘Blockchain or Cryptocurrency Initiative of the Year’ categories

Paysafe, a leading specialised payments platform, has won in two categories at the Payments Awards which took place in London on Wednesday, 13 November. The company was named winner of the ‘Best Online Payments Solution – Consumer’ and ‘Blockchain or Cryptocurrency Initiative of the Year’ in partnership with Coinbase.

Now in their seventh year, the Payments Awards recognise and celebrate companies which have demonstrated excellence and innovation in the payments space. Winning companies are those that have been deemed to launch or implement the most outstanding payments solutions, initiatives and projects during the past year.

The ‘Best Online Payments Solution – Consumer’ accolade recognises Paysafe’s suite of online consumer payment methods, including its eCash services paysafecard and Paysafecash, its digital wallets Skrill and NETELLER, its payment by bank transfer solution Rapid Transfer and its pay by invoice or instalment product, Paysafe Pay Later.

The ‘Blockchain or Cryptocurrency Initiative of the Year’ award was achieved for the launch of the Coinbase Card – a Visa debit card, issued by Paysafe, which is the first to directly link to the major cryptocurrency exchange in the UK & Europe. The card allows consumers to spend the value of their crypto in real-world online and brick-and-mortar transactions, just like a traditional purchase in fiat currency.

“I am so proud of the team for this achievement. For such a broad range of our consumer payment solutions to be recognised in this way is nothing short of fantastic,” said Danny Chazonoff, Chief Commercial Officer at Paysafe. “We’re continuing to evolve and enhance our payments portfolio and customer experience to make this complex area simple for both businesses and consumers.”

In addition to winning at the Payments Awards, last month Paysafe was shortlisted alongside Coinbase in ‘Best B2C Payments Programme’ at the Emerging Payments Awards 2019.
