Moneyhub Opens New European Office

Moneyhub chooses Slovenia as the base for EEA operations post-Brexit. Technologically advanced and hugely receptive to innovation, Slovenia is the perfect choice to fast track European growth for Moneyhub’s market-leading Open Finance platform.

As part of Moneyhub’s European expansion, the market-leading Open Finance data, intelligence, and payments platform announces the opening of a new office in Ljubljana, Slovenia. With a thriving tech scene growing at pace, the Slovenian capital is the ideal hub from where to further support Moneyhub’s offering and to accelerate the international expansion of the business.

Moneyhub’s Open Finance platform was designed from the outset to support international expansion at scale, with in-built multi-currency functionality and a unique machine-learning categorization engine, which is easily deployed to any market. Existing Moneyhub clients have already been able to expand to Ireland and Denmark, so the time is right to expand in Europe, particularly following Brexit and Open Banking PSD2 legislation gaining traction in Europe

Moneyhub’s capability will be equally important in Europe as it is in the UK, enabling digital transformation and content-driven data insights, essential for engagement with consumers. The time is right for all companies to seize the innovation opportunities provided by Moneyhub’s market-leading data, intelligence, and payment APIs, which are key to unlocking secure, controlled, and highly detailed data for the good of all.

A deep understanding of the international legislative landscape has meant that Moneyhub’s Open Finance platform is at the forefront of digital developments, including cross-sector ecosystems from financial services to telecommunications, retailing, and utilities.

Moneyhub’s CTO and one of the founding partners Dave Tonge is already based in Ljubljana. As a co-founder of FDATA; co-editor of the FAPI specs underpinning Open Banking and the UK’s expert for ISO TC68 SC9/WG2 for all financial APIs, Dave is widely respected in Open Finance circles. Moneyhub’s mission is to improve the financial wellness of people, their companies, and their communities. The platform does this by powering businesses with its APIs and white label solutions, as well as direct to consumer personal financial management apps. The unparalleled levels of consumer insight achieved continuously shapes Moneyhub’s B2B offering.

Dave Tonge, CTO at Moneyhub commented: “During 2021, Moneyhub’s growth proposition will become increasingly international. We are on a mission to share the capabilities of Open Finance with businesses and consumers alike not just in the UK, but throughout Europe and the Middle East too. The opening of our new office in Slovenia further underlines our commitment to strengthening our European offering.

“Demand from non-UK financial services providers is a clear indicator of the appetite for Open Finance innovation and the leading role that Moneyhub is playing in its implementation. 2020 saw a momentous shift for Open Finance as more and more businesses realize its potential to transform not just how they work but the relationship with their customers. Our second European base means that we’re well placed to help current and future clients deliver transformative solutions to their customers and help them future proof their business.”
