McLaren Racing announces expansion with Official Primary Partner OKX

McLaren Racing today announced an expansion to its partnership with OKX, the second-largest crypto exchange by trading volume and a leading Web3 technology company, increasing its support as an Official Primary Partner of McLaren Formula 1 Team and McLaren Shadow esports Team, from the 2023 Australian Grand Prix.

McLaren and OKX’s partnership is dedicated to bringing people closer to the team through innovative activations, competitions, and all-access content. In 2022 OKX delivered a livery takeover of the MCL36, launching the #FutureMode campaign at the Singapore and Japanese grands prix. The campaign celebrated McLaren’s return to racing in the Asia Pacific, a key region for OKX. OKX will continue to support McLaren’s evolving fan experience by providing more engaging, diverse and forward-looking experiences for the team’s global fanbase.

From the 2023 Australian Grand Prix onwards, OKX branding will feature with an increased presence on the MCL60 race cars. OKX will be carried on the sidepods for seven races: the Australian, Austrian, Hungarian, Belgian, Singapore, Japanese, and Sao Paulo grands prix. OKX branding will also feature on the driver suits and overalls of McLaren F1 drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri for the entirety of the 2023 season.

Zak Brown, CEO, McLaren Racing, said: “We are delighted to be growing our Primary Partnership with OKX, a long-established leader in the cryptocurrency sector. When partnering with brands in dynamic, fast-evolving industries like crypto, it’s important to be aligned with companies who work to the highest standards and to carry a responsibility to educate people on new technologies – and our partnership with OKX has led by example.

“OKX are pushing to elevate our fan experience offering, finding ways to bring the papaya fans closer to our team, while opening up the world of Formula 1 to a completely new audience.”

Haider Rafique, Chief Marketing Officer at OKX, said: “Together with McLaren, we’re stoked to debut the MCL60 with increased OKX branding in Melbourne, and support Oscar Piastri as he races his home track for the first time in a Formula 1 car. This is a very special moment not only for OKX – we’re celebrating OKX, Australia, and the new branding presence – but it’s also a great moment for fans, who will have the opportunity to engage with OKX and its all-star Australian ambassador line-up. The Australian GP is sure to be thrilling, and I can’t wait to meet our friends, fans and partners at the event.”
