Toolstation Partners With Superscript to Launch an Insurance Offering to Customers for the First Time

Toolstation, one of the UK’s largest suppliers of tools, accessories and building supplies, has partnered with Superscript, the digital insurance broker, to provide Toolstation customers with access to a new insurance offering.

The partnership is designed to safeguard tradespeople across Britain from the unexpected with smart, digital insurance solutions for every type of trade including covers such as public liability insurance, employers liability insurance, contract works cover, tool insurance, accident and illness cover and much more.

Research from Superscript revealed one of the biggest challenges for trades is tool theft. 53% of the tradespeople we asked said replacing their tools, if stolen, would cost them over £2000. For one in four tradespeople (22%) this estimate doubles to over £4000*.

Chris Other, Customer Director at Toolstation said: “We put tradespeople at the very heart of our business and this partnership means that Toolstation can offer insurance solutions that meet their real-life needs, giving them confidence that they are covered for every job. Many are small business owners or sole traders and they need the right protection in place, and by partnering with Superscript it means we can offer them insurance that protects their tools, their business and provides accident and illness cover.”

Henry Newby, Partnerships Director at Superscript said: “Toolstation is one of the fastest growing suppliers of tools and building supplies in the UK and we’re excited to be adding insurance to their offering for the first time.

“With this partnership, Toolstation Club members will benefit from the support of our clever tech and expert team to get the right cover for their business, fast – online or offline. Our unique digital offering allows trades to pick the right cover for their needs – and make changes as they grow, whether that’s expanding their team or taking on new jobs. And if things go wrong, our “excellent”-rated claims team is there to help them get back to business fast.

“Through this partnership, Toolstation is building on its already strong foundations as the go-to destination for everything a tradesperson needs to run their business.”

Customers can benefit from the insurance through the Toolstation Club platform. After signing into the Club, they can access the insurance offering on the rewards page, and after sharing some simple details about their business they will be able to secure an insurance quote.
