bolttech Partners with Harmony Auto Indonesia
The fast-growing global insurtech, bolttech, has partnered with Harmony Auto, a leading Chinese automotive distributor specialising in premium, luxury and new energy vehicles, to launch a suite of fit-for-purpose insurance solutions designed exclusively for BYD EV owners through Harmony Auto’s distribution channels.
The launch in Indonesia marks an expansion of Harmony Auto and bolttech’s ongoing collaboration, building on their successful partnerships in Singapore and Hong Kong. This initiative brings innovative protection solutions to safety-conscious consumers, going beyond traditional motor insurance. By combining bolttech’s expertise in embedded insurance and technology with Harmony Auto’s strong customer focus and market reach, the collaboration aims to deliver greater value across these key markets.
Now available at all BYD Harmony Auto showrooms across Indonesia, the insurance plans aim to make EV ownership safer and more accessible, in line Harmony’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and customer-centric solutions. Harmony Auto’s customers can choose coverage offering a wide range of EV-specific benefits, personal protection, and expanded risk coverage beyond standard motor insurance.
This strategic partnership highlights Harmony Auto’s and bolttech’s commitment to align with the Indonesian government’s push for greater EV adoption, with the target of deploying 2 million electric cars and 13 million electric two-wheelers by 2030, by reducing ownership risks and ensuring that drivers have access to reliable protection from day one
Andrew Cons, General Manager, bolttech Indonesia, said, “At bolttech, we believe that protection should evolve alongside innovation. Our partnership with Harmony Auto reflects our commitment to supporting Indonesia’s green mobility transition by providing EV owners with smart, flexible insurance solutions.”
Pak Suwandy, Country Head BYD & Denza Harmony Auto, said, “By integrating bolttech’s insurance offering into our customers’ EV ownership journey, we’re giving them more than just a vehicle – we’re giving them peace of mind, convenience, and confidence on the road.”
Customers can choose between two plans – comprehensive and total loss only (TLO). Both options are available for new vehicles with a maximum sum insured of IDR 1.5 billion, offering a range of benefits beyond standard motor insurance:
- EV-centric services – Both plans include 24/7 roadside assistance, compensation for battery and home charger damage, ambulance support, taxi reimbursement, and protection for EV wheels and tyres.
- Focus on safety and wellbeing – Coverage includes personal accident protection for drivers and passengers (up to IDR 50 million per person, subject to the number of passenger seats), third-party liability (up to IDR 50 million), passenger legal liability, and medical expenses (limited to 10% of the personal accident benefit).
- Expanded coverage – Policyholders who opt for the comprehensive option are protected against natural disasters (Acts of God), riots, terrorism, and third-party liabilities, providing confidence and coverage in all driving conditions.
