Insurtech Accelerant Welcomes Chief Technology Officer Pete Horst

Accelerant, the insurtech empowering underwriters with superior risk exchange, data analytics, and long-term capacity commitments, today announced that Pete Horst has joined as Chief Technology Officer. Horst will lead Accelerant’s global platform strategy and development.

A software executive who excels at leveraging technology, Horst most recently served as Vice President of Engineering for business analytics platform Qlik, where he brought their platform to the cloud as an Enterprise SaaS offering. Before that, Horst held software development and engineering roles at IBM and Cognos.

Accelerant specializes in serving a carefully selected and managed network of Members in the managing general underwriter and program administrator space across the United States, U.K. and Europe. It was founded by executives with more than three decades experience in the insurance industry who combined forces with leading technologists and data scientists to help underwriters drive market-leading profitable growth.

Horst will lead functions spanning Accelerant’s proprietary data and technology platform that helps Members better understand risk, benefit from insights, and handle operational and regulatory complexity.
