WeeFin Announces Two Key Appointments

Three months after its €25 million funding round, sustainable fintech WeeFin announces two key appointments. Matthias Breier is joining the company as Chief Product Officer and Julie Truong, WeeFin’s Head of Human Resources, will now be part of the executive committee.

The fintech based both in London and Paris has grown strongly in recent years, and plans to continue its expansion across Europe by entering new markets, such as Luxembourg and Italy. WeeFin has doubled its headcount in two years and plans to welcome more than 100 new employees globally over the next three years.

Matthias Breier (PhD) appointed Chief Product Officer at WeeFin

This strategic hire aims at accelerating WeeFin’s international expansion. Before joining WeeFin, Matthias Breier served as ESG Product Manager at CSSP, an ESG reporting firm based in Liechtenstein. He then became Head of Product for regulatory reporting at FE fundinfo, a European financial data provider. He holds a PhD in business model innovation from Lappeenranta University in Finland. In his new role, Matthias Breier will be responsible for growing the product team, defining the roadmap of WeeFin’s platform, and unfolding its strategy across Europe.

Julie Truong, Head of Human Resources, joins WeeFin’s executive committee

Formerly Head of Human Resources at WWF, Julie Truong joined WeeFin in 2022 as Head of Human Resources. She has played a key role in cultivating a positive internal culture and shaping a strong employer brand. As WeeFin transitioned to a mission-driven company, her expertise has supported the fintech’s exponential growth—its workforce has quadrupled since her arrival, now reaching nearly 100 employees, most of them working remotely. She now naturally joins WeeFin’s executive committee, a gender-balanced team of six members. This appointment reflects the company’s commitment to building a sustainable model at every stage of its growth, especially as its international expansion continues.

“We are delighted to welcome Matthias, whose dual expertise in product and ESG will be a valuable asset to WeeFin during this phase of growth. His in-depth understanding of the challenges and the international market will actively contribute to strengthening our leadership position. Appointing Julie, whose work and commitment have been exemplary since she joined, to the executive committee is both a strategic and a natural step: it reflects our commitment to firmly anchoring the values that define WeeFin” comments Marion Aubert, cofounder of WeeFin and Head of UK.

With the Weefin Key Appointments, the company speeds up its fintech roadmap and strengthens its leadership skills.
