NatureAlpha Appoints Nicolas Nebout to Drive Sales During Year of Exponential Growth

Nicolas Nebout NatureAlpha is the headline news as the ESG data firm appoints a seasoned sales leader to accelerate its global expansion. NatureAlpha, a dynamic AI fintech business for preeminent nature risk data and analysis, today announced the appointment of Nicolas Nebout as Head of Sales.  In this newly created role, Nicolas will lead the team responsible for generating new business, client relationships and scaling the reach and impact of the business in the UK and globally.

Nebout joins NatureAlpha from CarbonChain, the carbon accounting platform dedicated to transitioning the world’s supply chain to a net-zero economy. During two years as Regional Business Director, Nebout was responsible for sales optimisation, revenue growth and business development.  He successfully implemented data-driven client acquisition strategies to propel business growth and drove market penetration through innovative marketing and outbound campaigns and strategic partnerships.

Prior to CarbonChain, Nebout launched and led the UK operations at carbon management platform, Plan A, where he developed a deep expertise in carbon accounting, ESG reporting and net-zero strategies.  During his tenure, Nebout meaningfully augmented the organisation’s presence within the UK market through expanding the UK commercial team; evolving the product proposition to better align with client demand and implementing an effective go-to-market strategy, which enabled the realisation of ambitious UK growth targets. The appointment reinforces the firm’s strategic goals — making Nicolas Nebout NatureAlpha a combination to watch.

Nebout’s appointment to NatureAlpha marks an important milestone in a period of exponential growth for the organisation.  In February, NatureAlpha secured investment from DNV allowing the business to scale and advance its technological development.  Other landmarks during 2025 include, launching its enhanced analytics platform, Geoverse 2.0; partnering with private banking and asset management group LGT; hiring Laura Segafredo, PhD, as Chief Growth Officer; and magnifying its client base to include sovereigns, global investment companies and world leading asset allocators.

Nick Hough-Robbins, CEO at NatureAlpha, commented: “2025 has already been a year of unprecedented growth for NatureAlpha.  The exploitation of AI and technological advancement has expedited the accessibility of reliable, accurate and current natural world data and analysis beyond expectation.  Increasing acknowledgement of nature as business critical, coupled with the necessity to future-proof for upcoming regulatory requirements, has resulted in the significant growth and diversification of NatureAlpha’s potential client pool.  We are extremely excited to capitalise on this opportunity and welcome Nicolas to drive our sales efforts, both in the UK and globally.”

Spanning a 16 year career in the UK and France, Nebout’s extensive experience within startups and the sustainability sector, together with his passion for innovation and delivering client solutions, perfectly aligns with NatureAlpha’s ambition to develop pioneering nature data solutions for clients. This leadership move confirms NatureAlpha’s ambitious growth plans for 2025, and with Nicolas Nebout NatureAlpha leading sales, the firm is poised to scale rapidly.

Nicolas Nebout, Head of Sales at NatureAlpha, stated: “My career has enabled me to help shape the carbon accounting market across a range of industries and regions, all focused on accelerating progress toward net zero. But tackling the climate crisis alone is not enough. Biodiversity is the next frontier and while businesses increasingly recognise its cruciality, we need a broader, more integrated approach.  At NatureAlpha, I see a powerful opportunity to start where it matters most — with financial institutions — helping them identify, understand and address their nature-related risks, impacts and dependencies.”
