Hannah McKechnie Joins Icon Solutions’ Leadership Team as People Director

Icon Solutions, a fintech company enabling banks globally to design and implement state-of-the-art payment systems, has today announced the appointment of Hannah McKechnie to its leadership team as People Director.

“Having been with us for the last eight years as Head of HR, Hannah has proven to be a real asset,” comments Ben Hallifax, co-founder of Icon Solutions. “Her knowledge and experience make a huge difference to the smooth running of the company, wellbeing of the team and therefore our delivery and growth. Hannah brings a new dynamic and vision to our senior leadership team, helping to steer decisions that affect everybody across the organisation. As a company that prioritises people, Hannah and her team are an essential part of what makes us ‘Icon’.”

Hannah brings more than 20 years’ experience to this new position, with previous people-focused roles in sectors including strategic communications and IT services. Her contributions in recent years have been fundamental to the expansion of Icon’s operations as adoption of the Icon Payments Framework (IPF) has grown. Hannah has also been integral to supporting Icon’s growth strategy following strategic investments from Citi and NatWest.

“Being at the heart of a people-focused organisation and collaborating to achieve our full potential is what motivates me every day. I’m excited by this new challenge,” adds Hannah. “We’re already in a strong position, built on the culture, people and values that makes Icon stand out. I look forward now to working even more closely with the leadership team to help set the strategic direction of the company and lead Icon, and payments, further.”

In addition to this, Hannah will continue to oversee Icon’s ‘People and Purpose’ programmes. This includes support for grassroots initiatives and championing career paths in technology through Icon’s partnerships with the Social Mobility Foundation, and the purpose-led technology training and services company Digital Futures.

Icon’s core product, IPF, is an internationally proven payment development product. It enables banks to accelerate the transformation of their own payment platforms
by helping them build, test and deploy payment processing solutions much faster and more robustly. Icon also supports customer success through best-in-class consulting services, with specialties in payments, architecture, data and AI.
