Consilium Announces ‘Cyber Champion’ Ethan Godlieb Appointment
Consilium, the global speciality (re)insurance broking business of the Aventum Group, today announced the appointment of Ethan Godlieb as Associate Partner leading Cyber, Tech and Fintech within its Professional & Executive Risks Division.
Recognised as a cyber champion, Ethan joins Consilium in May once he has served his notice at Aon where he holds the position of Cyber and Technology E&O Broker. He brings with him 8 years’ experience in commercial broking with specialist expertise in cyber and data risks for mid-market and global firms. The appointment is a real coup for Consilium – a demonstration of its ability to attract the brightest young talent in the industry. Ethan was named BIBA Young Broker the Year in 2024.
Ethan is already established as a leader in the field, renowned for his innovative approach, appetite for complex risks, knowledge sharing, and client facing skills. Amongst his accomplishments are a recent appointment to an international cyber panel, membership of the CII New Generation Programme, and involvement in the upcoming Young Broker Panel at BIBA 2025. Ethan joins the team at a time when Consilium is focussed on tackling persistent problems in the cyber market such as the grey areas that persist in standard wordings between PI and cyber and delivering a meaningful and responsive readjustment of rates following a prolonged soft market and volatile geopolitical landscape.
Ethan’s role will be to grow Consilium’s cyber book both in terms of class and territory. He will collaborate across complimentary teams at Consilium to provide tailored Cyber insurance solutions and specialised risk management guidance that address the heightened risks business of all sizes and sectors face in the current environment.
Speaking about Ethan’s appointment, Nick Bachmann, Managing Partner of Consilium said: “We’re excited to welcome Ethan to the team. A true rising star in the market he embodies our ‘all-in’ mentality, vision and determination to inspire the market. I have no doubt he’ll help us expand our book and appetite to all sizes and complexities of risk. Cyber is still a relatively new sector of the market, and it is certainly a complex one. Our aim, with the help of Ethan, is to make cyber simple and deliver specialist expertise that our clients can trust.”
