Chubb Appoints Michael Babington as Head of Claims for Europe, Middle East and Africa

Chubb announced the appointment of Michael Babington as Head of Claims for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), effective 1 November 2025.

Babington will oversee the strategy and delivery of Chubb’s market-leading claims service across EMEA. He will be based in London and report to Ana Robic, Regional President for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Babington succeeds Richard Shanks, who will continue in the role until November.

“I’m confident that Michael, with his extensive claims experience and deep knowledge of Chubb, will continue to drive delivery of our market-leading claims service”, said Robic.

With nearly 20 years of experience, Babington has held many claims leadership positions, most recently as Head of Claims for Chubb in Australia & New Zealand. He joined Chubb in Australia in 2012 as a claims specialist within Financial Lines, and previously worked as a lawyer in London. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Dundee.

The Chubb Michael Babington appointment is expected to further enhance claims operations across the EMEA region, cementing Chubb’s global reputation for service delivery.
