Checkout.com Appoints Ashley Paulus to Head Up Growth for UK and Europe
Checkout.com, a leading global digital payments company, today announces the appointment of Ashley Paulus to head up growth for the UK and Europe, reinforcing the company’s continued investment across the region.
In her new role, Paulus will lead Checkout.com’s revenue and growth strategy across the UK and the European Economic Area (EEA). Her appointment comes as Checkout.com continues to scale in these priority markets, following year-on-year volume growth of 78% in the UK and nearly 60% across the EEA in 2025 as well as recent partnership announcements with enterprise merchants including Spotify, Freenow and Vinted.
Having spent more than six years at Checkout.com, Paulus has held senior commercial leadership roles across the business, partnering with enterprise merchants to accelerate performance and unlock new growth opportunities across markets.
Checkout.com has licences in the UK and France enabling direct acquiring across all 30 EEA member countries. The company also supports a broad range of consumer payment preferences in Europe, including digital wallets and local payment methods.
Paulus’ appointment reinforces Checkout.com’s continued investment in Europe as a strategic growth market, as the company expands its footprint with enterprise merchants looking to increase acceptance, boost performance across markets, and unlock more value from every transaction. This includes through capabilities such as Intelligent Acceptance, which uses AI to optimise payment processing and help improve authorisation rates.
Now based in London, Paulus also brings deep expertise in digital assets, advising global platforms on emerging payment models. Her background spans e-commerce, cross-border payments and high-growth fintech environments, supporting merchants operating across complex markets and evolving regulatory landscapes.
