Gen Z focused smart finance app, W1TTY, hits half a million downloads

Smart finance app, W1TTY, today announces that it has crossed 500,000 downloads in only seven months. Following its release in October 2021, W1TTY has seen rapid growth and plans to launch in the UK later this year.

Through smart tailored banking solutions, including educational services and reward schemes, W1TTY’s mission is to empower Gen Z and Millennials with the knowledge to take control of their finances.

Born out of CEO and Founder Ammar Kutait‘s vision to improve young people’s financial wellbeing, the rapid growth in demand for the app clearly illustrates young people’s need for support and the current gap in fintech.

W1TTY’s research of 2000+ 18-24 year olds in the UK demonstrates the necessity for fintech to support users, with approximately one-third looking for loyalty (37%) and cashback (31%) schemes, 28% looking for a streamlined app that is easy to navigate, and one in five (18%) asking for cryptocurrency support and advice.

W1TTY offers a solution to young users searching for more from their fintech provider, with a suite of services including 24/7 human customer service support and cashback on all purchases. W1TTY aims to bridge the fiat and crypto worlds and will soon be adding a feature to empower the financial portfolio of young investors along with a fully immersive and gamified rewards programme.

States Kutait: “To align and improve our offerings for the new-age generation, we remain in constant touch with them through research. We continuously work towards meeting the wants and needs of the GenZ and Millennials. The rate our downloads have grown is a testament to a desire for a unique, personalised, and supportive banking style, and we can’t wait to bring these services to the UK later this year.”

W1TTY secured its EMI licence from the FCA last year and is gearing up to launch into the UK market in the coming months. Headquartered in London, W1TTY has over 100+ employees in 10+ countries. W1TTY currently operates in Spain, Portugal, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Italy, and Germany, and other EEA countries to establish itself in the fintech space.

W1TTY is supported by an advisory board whose members include; Lord Peter Chadlington, Chairman of the Board and Founder of Weber Shandwick, Gene Lockhart, Former CEO of Mastercard and Bank of America, Lord Hill of Oareford, Former EU Commissioner for Financial Services and Leader of the House of Lords, and Dr. Mark Ransford, formerly of Goldman Sachs.
