Xceptor Appoints SAP Executive Michiel Verhoeven as New CEO as Andrew Kouloumbrides Retires
Xceptor, the financial sector’s leading data automation platform provider, today announced the retirement of current CEO Andrew Kouloumbrides and the appointment of Michiel Verhoeven as its new CEO. Michiel, Managing Director of SAP UK and Ireland, will take over leadership of Xceptor on April 3, 2023.
Michiel brings to the role an impressive pedigree spanning more than 25 years leading both global software corporations and tech start-ups in Europe, Asia, and North America. At SAP he is responsible for business and operations across the UK and Ireland, overseeing approximately 5,000 employees. Prior to SAP, Michiel has held management roles at Microsoft and webMethods.
Andrew will step down as CEO having led Xceptor since 2016. During this time, he has driven significant growth in the business, increasing headcount from 18 to almost 250, growing the company’s blue chip client roster from 25 to nearly 100 clients globally, and expanding into North America. Over the course of his leadership, Xceptor has become the leading data automation platform provider for global financial institutions.
On his appointment, Michiel Verhoeven comments: “I’m delighted to be joining Xceptor at this stage in the company’s journey. On the back of a remarkable eight years of constant growth under Andrew’s leadership, the business is well-funded and primed to expand further across the globe, partner with more leading firms, and continue to invest in the development of the platform itself. I look forward to working alongside some of the industry’s finest talent, including the highly skilled existing senior team, and serving a vibrant client base as we look to strengthen the Xceptor brand as the leading global data automation benchmark in the financial services sector.”
Xceptor Non-Executive Chair, Pete Daffern, comments: “On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am excited to welcome Michiel as our new CEO. Michiel is a seasoned and highly-regarded leader with years of experience managing global corporations and startups. We believe his deep enterprise software domain expertise is complementary to our vision for Xceptor and will leave us well-positioned to continue scaling the firm and delivering an unparalleled experience to our customer base. We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Andrew for his dedication and leadership during his tenure as CEO, and wish him all the best in the future.”
Current Xceptor CEO, Andrew Kouloumbrides, comments: “Having spent almost four decades in the technology arena, my time leading Xceptor has been highly rewarding. I have seen our platform and products evolve, delivering efficiency, managing risk, and enhancing services for our clients. Michiel takes the helm of a fantastic company with a leading product, a top-tier client roster, and an attractive market segment in which to operate. I have no doubt that Michiel’s experience will be invaluable to Xceptor as the business embarks on its next phase of growth, and I wish him and the rest of the team every success.”
