SAP Fioneer appoints Valmina Prezani as Head of Retail Banking

SAP Fioneer, a leading provider of financial services software solutions and platforms, today announced the appointment of Valmina Prezani to the newly-created position of Head of Retail Banking.

Valmina Prezani joins SAP Fioneer from Temenos, a Switzerland based specialist for enterprise software for the banking and financial services sector. She spent fifteen years at Temenos, most recently as Product Director, where she was running the core Retail Banking product portfolio. During this time, she was a key driver of some of the company’s biggest strategic initiatives, for example the move towards composable banking, enterprise product management & pricing, multi-currency e-wallets, asset finance, socially responsible BNPL, financial literacy & health, among others.

After the successful carve-out from SAP in late 2021, SAP Fioneer is in a constant state of growth. “I am delighted to welcome Valmina to the SAP Fioneer team to focus on the undeniable opportunity for retail banks in their digital transformation journeys”, comments Marcin Krawiec, Managing Director Banking. “Valmina is a recognized expert in her field, and she will add tremendous value to our offering for our retail banking clients. We are proud and lucky to have her on board.”

“Banking-as-a-service has been revolutionizing retail banking and there is tremendous growth potential. What stood out with SAP Fioneer is its people and uniqueness as a company. I am excited to join a team of experts, working with a solid technological base and the entrepreneurial spirit that leads to true innovation. I look forward to the journey ahead and to building out the Fioneer Retail Banking offering”, said Prezani.

Retail banking focuses on providing financial services to individual consumers and small businesses, catering to their everyday banking needs. Rising demand for personalized consulting services paired with significant technological advancements result in a dynamic market, projected to grow significantly: according to research, the retail banking market size was estimated at USD 1,963 billion in 2022 and it is expected to be worth around USD 3,482 billion by 2032.
