Revolut Locks in Paris Headquarters for Western Europe
WHY THIS MATTERS: This commitment to a long-term headquarters in Paris signals a crucial inflection point in Revolut’s European strategy, moving beyond its challenger status toward genuine regulatory embedment. For the broader market, this solidifies the trend of neobank consolidation as scale-ups shift from lightweight licenses to seeking full banking status within major EU jurisdictions. By centering its Western Europe operations in Paris—a clear nod to the region’s traditional financial power—Revolut is strategically securing its operational future. This move, combined with the pursuit of a French banking license, is about more than geographical expansion; it is about regulatory arbitrage. It allows the company to localize its core services, deepen customer trust, and unlock higher-margin lending and investment products across its fastest-growing region, effectively preparing for a post-challenger reality.
Revolut, the global fintech serving over 70 million customers worldwide – with more than 7 million in France – today announced it has signed a ten-year lease for its Western Europe headquarters at the crossroads of the Bourse district, the historic heart of French finance, and the Sentier neighbourhood, one of the city’s most dynamic tech and entrepreneurial hubs. The new office is scheduled to open in early 2027.
The company will occupy 2,417 square metres (26,011 sq ft) of office space across six floors (lower ground, ground and floors 1–4) in a fully refurbished late-19th century building. Designed by architect Albert Waldwein with a then-modern steel structure and an ornate façade, later recognised by the City of Paris.
Faithful to its industrial heritage, the building features large open floorplates, high ceilings and expansive windows designed to maximise natural lighting; creating bright, flexible spaces that foster creativity, collaboration and efficient ways of working. The 2025 renovation preserved key historical elements, including the stone façade, original steel structure and wooden staircases blending architectural heritage with a contemporary, minimalist language.
Designed to host Revolut’s Western Europe and Paris-based teams, the site will support collaboration, innovation, employee wellbeing, and the continued growth of the company’s presence in the region.
The Paris headquarters will serve as a central hub for Revolut’s Western Europe operations, supporting expansion across key markets including France (7M+ customers), Spain (6M+ customers), Italy (4.5M+ customers), Germany (3M+ customers), Ireland (3M+ customers), and Portugal (2M+ customers).
As part of the move, Revolut plans to install its logo on the ground floor of the building, reinforcing its physical presence in Paris and its long-term commitment to customers in France.
The announcement builds on Revolut’s broader investment in France and Western Europe, including its application for a French banking licence, confirmation of 400+ hires in the region, and plans for 1,500+ staff to work directly for the new bank in the near future, as part of a 1 billion euro investment in the region. Together, these steps mark a new phase in the company’s ambition to establish itself as a leading bank in Europe.
Béatrice Cossa-Dumurgier, CEO Western Europe at Revolut, commented: “This location reflects exactly what Revolut stands for in the region: at the crossroads of Paris’ historic financial centre and the Sentier district, long known as the heart of the city’s tech ecosystem. Combining a central location, strong international connectivity, and vibrant, premium surroundings: it was a natural choice for our Western Europe headquarters. It embodies our ambition to bridge the best of both worlds: strong banking foundations and cutting-edge innovation. This new HQ will be a place where our teams come together to build the future of banking in Europe.”
Antoine Le Nel, Chief Growth and Marketing Officer at Revolut added: “With over 25 million customers, Western Europe is now Revolut’s largest and fastest-growing region – and still offers significant untapped potential. France is at the heart of that momentum, which is why we chose Paris for our regional headquarters. This new office reflects our ambition to accelerate growth across the region and deepen relationships with our customers. Building a strong local presence is key to becoming our customers’ primary banking partner.”
The new office will become a key hub for Revolut’s regional teams, complementing its global headquarters in London and its existing European banking operations. As a remote-first company, Revolut will use the space to host product launches, workshops, and collaborative work, while employees will continue to choose where they want to work, reflecting the company’s flexible work culture.
