Fintech Football is Back

After the most dramatic of finishes to Season 3, where Mastercard beat defending champions Revolut in the last game of the season to secure their first league title, the Fintech Football Champs return for Season 4 in February. This season, we’re expecting even more drama and excitement as 22 teams compete, across 2 divisions of 11 teams, all with the same aim of becoming the top dogs in Fintech.

In Division 1, Mastercard will be favourites to retain the title but Revolut will be keen to take back their crown and big things are expected of new boys ClearBank and IFX Payments. Division 2 looks more even, but Funding Circle will be favourites for promotion, after narrowly missing out last season.

The action kicks off on 8th February at Haggerston School pitches, with games taking place every Thursday night for 11 weeks. All of the action will once again be caught on camera, with weekly match highlights and goal of the week videos to be released on social media.

The season will culminate with an all star game at the GTech Stadium, home of Premier League Team Brentford FC.

This isn’t your run of the mill corporate sports event, we give our players the professional football experience and as a result the players and teams are all highly engaged in the league.

“It has always been a pleasure to play in the Fintech Football Championship hosted by the Corporate 5’s cup. We at Worldpay have found it a fantastic opportunity to play a game of competitive football against other fintech companies on a Thursday night and to network and meet others post-game. We look forward to continuing in the league for many more seasons”, Chun Yi Lee, Solutions Consultant, Worldpay
