Crédit Agricole Group Infrastructure Platform Drives Automation and Operational Efficiency With Red Hat
Red Hat, Inc., the world’s leading provider of open source solutions, announced that Crédit Agricole Group Infrastructure Platform (CA-GIP) adopted Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform to support the organization’s cultural shift to an automation-centric strategy, increasing operational efficiency for DevOps teams. Working with Red Hat, CA-GIP has automated infrastructure operations, scaled automation across tens of thousands of servers, and achieved return on investment (ROI) in just one year.
Crédit Agricole Group is the largest cooperative financial institution and tenth largest bank in the world. The bank established CA-GIP in 2019 to manage its IT infrastructure and technology and services operations for its insurance, corporate banking, and investment banking services.
To keep up with the growing demands of digital financial services, the bank set out to transition from the community version of Ansible to an enterprise-grade technology that can save time on repetitive management tasks and reduce the risk of human error. CA-GIP sought a cost-effective solution that could manage numerous current and future use cases, while integrating with CA-GIP’s existing technology stack, especially Red Hat Satellite, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Red Hat OpenShift.
CA-GIP adopted Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform to manage infrastructure provisioning, configuration and patching. CA-GIP and Red Hat implemented Ansible Automation Platform to automate processes on 20,000 Linux servers with plans to extend it to 45,000 servers throughout 2022. Red Hat Consulting helped CA-GIP’s engineering staff build up relevant automation skills to adopt Ansible Automation Platform across the company.
CA-GIP has deployed a consistent and stable automation solution and simplified the adoption of automation capabilities for all DevOps teams. Transitioning from the community version of Ansible to the fully supported Ansible Automation Platform allows Crédit Agricole to use automation to free the resources required to solve current and future business challenges.
Jean-Christophe Morisseau, France general manager, Red Hat
“We are delighted that CA-GIP chose to renew its trust in us and will look to strengthen our relationship further by helping their DevOps teams reduce costs and save time, while enjoying a streamlined experience. By selecting Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, CA-GIP can now use an automation approach to the infrastructure operations and increase operational efficiency at the enterprise level.”
Pierre-François Liozon, Unix team head, Crédit Agricole Group Infrastructure Platform
“We realized we needed enterprise technology that could support a cultural shift to an automation-centric approach for our DevOps teams. In addition to lower costs and better reusability, we also needed a vendor-agnostic solution. Red Hat offered us a path to our goal of providing a seamless experience to all of CA-GIP’s DevOps teams through a single technical solution.”
